This is what it is
Well as you can imagine, there are a ton of photos from today and I didn’t know who to favour or who to pick out of the crowd, or whether to show the crowd at all!
Vikram has been anxiously tracking every guest but I am happy to report that there were only 2 no shows, one local had it put out of his mind by having to be a warden at the village dog show. And the other was unwell. So people came from near and far, the guests were aged 2 - 92. Both the grandchildren had a great time, I thought they might be a bit overwhelmed but not a bit of it. I kept being shown pics of Ivy in various parts of the house, trying on my jewellery or making pretend cups of coffee. Or learning to love dogs by controlled patting of Honey.
The weather didn’t play ball and we actually had some rain so we were glad of the marquees. But largely everyone wrapped up and got on with it in the best English manner. We had a hog roast, veggie options, Bellinis on arrival and ice cream sandwiches. Sausages rolls on wrap in a good old filming tradition.
We took reunion photos of teams who’d worked together on long ago shows. And introduced old friends to new. Susannah did a perfect speech and Vik gave a perfect reply. We got dancing going and had a magic mirror Photo Booth with snaps of actors camping it up with their kids. And Vik and various pals.
The sun came back out in the late afternoon and gave us a perfect golden hour. People had largely gone by 9.30 leaving Vikram’s daughters and boyfriends here with Charlotte.
WE had a scratch supper and having walked 16000 steps without having left the garden I took my aching limbs to a bath and bed. It’s over!!
