Sorry not sorry, more poppies!

Today I drove S to Narbonne for his X-ray. Very efficiently done and dusted, out with the results in less than an hour. It appears nothing is broken or cracked, and he is walking better now. So it's just a matter of time to heal.

Our first experience of trying to adopt a cat from a shelter has not gone well, however. The secretary in Carcassonne had taken our contact details and assured us that we could adopt one of the kittens after they had gone through vet checks etc, which would take about a fortnight. I hadn't heard anything, but this morning they appeared on their Facebook page looking healthy. So I contacted the shelter, and they sent me some forms to fill in, which I duly did and returned them by email. This evening when I got back from gym, I found a message from them saying they'd all been adopted this afternoon by other people, without our even getting a chance to see them again. Not impressed. So it's back to the drawing board, and our local shelter who are hopefully more trustworthy.
