Holwell Bluebells

I met up with my pal, John for lunch at the Tinpickle and Rhum at Haytor. After a good catch up over lunch, we went off to Holwell Lawn, the first of our locations for moorland bluebells. There were quite a few patches of bluebells but were very sparse in places where I've seen them before and where I expected to see them. My main blip is the view from Holwell Lawn up to Haytor.

We went on to Emsworthy Mire, where the red barn is and were surprised to see almost no bluebells there. That clinched it, we're too early. Even though the bluebells seemed to be well advanced, they're probably still a couple of weeks off. Still, I've added an extra of a sheep and lamb in the shade of one of the large trees there.
