Oblaca restaurant

Despite the bombs of World War Two largely missing Prague, it was hardly unaffected. It was occupied by the Nazis and, unsurprisingly, the Jewish community bore the brunt of that.

This afternoon we went across to the Jewish Quarter, where we saw some beautiful buildings, including the Pinkas Synagogue, where the the walls of the synagogue have been covered with names of the 77,297 Bohemian and Moravian Jewish victims of the Shoah / Holocaust.

On a less sombre note, in the evening we went for dinner at the Oblaca Restaurant, where once again the Minx overcame her vertigo for the greater good of the team.

We had a great meal, only marred by the wine sommelier trying to sell us ridiculously priced bottles of wine. Not that he was particularly forthcoming about the prices, but the Minx had no problem asking!

She'd also identified the Bukowski Bar as a potential venue for after dinner drinks, and that turned out to be a great choice. Great interior, lovely staff, and fab cocktails. I could happily spend a whole evening there.
