The Last of the Bluebells

We gave the garden a good soak last night, particularly the lawn as we’d applied a conditioning treatment a day or two ago and then we didn’t get any of the forecasted possible rain.

Our standard Ceanothus tree is coming into flower now but these are the last of the bluebells. The ones in sunnier parts of the garden have gone over already.

We’re off on holiday tomorrow so we delivered a reluctant and rather unhappy Ziggy to the cattery this morning. It’s a new one to us but we were reassured when we met Natasha and saw how nice it was. It’ll take him a few days to settle but at least he’s safe in there (as are our carpets from being scratched).

Today is the 80th anniversary of Victory Europe Day. It’s hard to imagine what a momentous day that was all those years ago.
