Dun da lamh…

Pictish fort sits on top of this wooded hill, where today it could see how low the water above the dam is! Despite the dry ground, everything seems very green and Hawthorn and Rowan are blossoming. The Swallows are nesting  under the bridge, Sand Martins swoop across the river and Oystercatchers were nesting on the exposed pebble banks.  Attempting to use a fence post as a tripod I was delighted and surprised to find a Two banded Longhorn beetle perched there! There was another on a pile of dry wood and a third on my leg! Later captured a pair of Orangetips mating on the Cuckoo flower. At home it was the turn of the Robin to bring its youngster into the garden to feed this morning.
