I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning and headed to work on the early train. Totally different faces only 40 mins earlier. I then had a 'quick' run round Clayton Vale park but was disappointed that the effort I put in was disproportionate to the speed I went.
The day went quite quickly and then I headed off for my regular Tuesday coffee at NTP. I pushed the boat out and bought a bag of Square Mile. I'm sure there is a premium because they're a London roaster but frankly it's worth it. Whilst I am derided in the office when I grind my own beans and then time my brew to perfection, the quality is great. I'll get 20 cups out of a 350g bag which works out over half the price everyone else pays in the canteen.
I then headed to swimming. Nick the coach is known for his savage sessions and he delivers them with a sadistic demeanour. "Thank God you're back Nick" I said as he was away last week. "The coach last week killed us...... The session was soooo hard". He looked slightly downbeat that another coach had outsavaged him and I was secretly pleased that I had found a chink in his armour.
