Life on hold while patient improves
Despite his having a much better night’s sleep than we had feared, Ottawacker Jr. is still not completely recovered from his asthma flare-up, and so was off school again today. Nonetheless, he forced down a bagel without throwing up so the signs are that he has been moving in the right direction. Mrs. Ottawacker decided discretion was the better part of valour, and went into the office “for a meeting” – so I spent the morning tiptoeing around upstairs, listening to the gentle snores coming from the reclining chair downstairs. Normally, the gentle snores from that chair are mine.
While he was sleeping or reading, I started to put away the items from the big parcel I received yesterday. It’s really hard trying to organize 50+ years of mess. I’m not 100% sure I will ever manage to do it. Time will tell.
In the p.m., he started his prednisol course, and generally seemed to pick up as the day went on. Evenings always seem worse, but he managed to force down some chicken stir fry – and watch a Dr. Who episode before heading to bed.
