Holehird
Made the long trip across the District today to Windermere to visit Lakeland and Holehird gardens.
Purchases successful made and coffee enjoyed we moved on to the gardens at Holehird so see how they had changed since our visit in March. The azaleas and rhododendrons were at their best as were the myriad of new leaves and the view across Windermere to Langdale. The Himalayan poppies were just beginning to bloom (extra)
Our appetite sated we did a quick circuit of Holehird Tarn and surrounding footpaths which provided stunning views out to the fells of the west. The only fly in the ointment was a large bull occupying the footpath along which we had to pass. We found another, unauthorised route to avoid crossing his field.
This evening we met up with Technophobe and Loose Canon in the Wheatsheaf Inn in Lorton for very enjoyable time with good food and easy conversation. The last time we met was on a wet day in 2019. Yikes, where did that time go? https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2623308944419848669
