Danny and Sinéad
Memorable day. Very muggy with hazy sunshine this morning. Mr P and I did some food shopping and sat in the Parque Central (in the shade).
We started cooking in the afternoon as son no 1 and his partner were coming to ours for a meal tonight. We then nipped out to the Corte Inglés (Spanish dept store) to buy new pillows and an electric orange squeezer. By the time we came out it had got very dark and the heavens had opened up. We ran home in torrential rain and thunder and lighting. All the church bells started ringing for the new pope but I could barely hear them above the noise of the storm. We were soaked through as were our new pillows. Needless to say everything was delayed because of the pope news. Poor Dan and Sinéad had to wait for their supper. Pope Leo was a surprise but appears to be a good choice, although I’d have liked a more liberal pope. However it’s early days and he said all the right things.
I think Dan and Sinéad enjoyed their meal. As ever I ate far too much!
