Iglesia El Salvador

We enjoyed a bountiful breakfast this morning. No complaints this time, our hotel was excellent.
Cuenca has a reputation for playing a leading role in abstract art, so we decided to visit 2 modern art galleries before leaving. One of them is housed in a hanging house (casa colgada). We ended up seeing an awful lot of art, but our favourite by far was a temporary photography exhibition. I hope @LauraMuir manages to see it before it moves on to Palma on the 12th of May.
We decided to stop off for a late lunch in a town called Requena on the way back and explored the old Jewish Quarter, where this church is. Unfortunately it meant that we arrived back in Valencia during the rush hour (7pm to 8.30pm) and couldn’t find a parking space anywhere. We ended up having to park at the beach and get a bus back into the city centre!
No white smoke from the Vatican yet tonight. Keeping all crossed for a new Pope from the liberal wing of the Church.
