VE Day Anniversary Celebrations

Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse invited volunteers from Falkland Palace, Kellie Castle and Balmerino Abbey to share a Barbecue Lunch with the Mansionhouse Volunteers.

The weather was very bright sunshine and everyone enjoyed themselves. Most of the volunteers were born after World War 2.

Some talked about the role their parents carried out during the hostilities. My father served in the Royal Army Medical Corps and my mother was trained as a welder to make fuel tanks for Vickers Wellington aircraft.

The main photograph shows the magnificent wisteria in full flower and the sundial sculpture.
