At last

..I got up to the Magdalen Hill Butterfly Reserve this afternoon and this was the first butterfly I found.  A rather early female Marsh Fritillery (unless you tell me otherwise) and in just the place I'd expect to see it too.  I had a beautiful time up there, cut short by Jim, the builder boss, who rang to say his lads were stuck on the motorway but would be with me by 3pm.  Of course they were there much sooner, but luckily K was at home and dealt with it all before my hasty return.  So now all I have to do is confirm with the insurance company that they'll pay for the inside work and then that's it.  Hooray!

Meanwhile, if tomorrow's as lovely as today I've promised myself another session with the butterflies.  They seem to have been a long time coming this year.
