Gently down the stream

Azure Damselfly

Well I say that very confidently, but this little creature did puzzle me a bit.  It's the first damselfly I've seen this year and it was absolutely tiny. It's clinging on to the tip of a nettle leaf and you can get some idea of the scale by how hairy the leaf looks.  I think the damselfly was hardly more than 4 cms long.  In fact when I caught the movement at first I thought it was a plume moth (one of those immensely skinny moths you find in long grass in summer).

The rest of my day has been very busy with such wonderfully exciting things as taking winter duvets to the dry cleaners and a trip up to Winnall to look out new carpet for the conservatory.  Both things successfully, and expensively, done!

A bit later I will add the results of WFW25_04 below.  Thanks, as always, to those who entered

Have a great Thursday evening, all  xx
