FINALLY, after fifteen years my Paris Book is done! Launched last night at Tribe Porty, a place that featured in the story of the book. I invited E, who led the Artist's Way group there in 2016, to host the event and interview about the book. She was fantastic, better even than I'd hoped (and I was sure she would be great) as she brought her own take on the book and added new dimensions to things. She had lots of interesting things to say about the associations the snail in Pere Lachaise brought to mind and many other great insights. Now that other people are reading it, the creative project of the book moves out into a collaborative phase as readers play with and add to my thoughts. It's exciting. People were very kind, books were bought, I signed front pages. My sister J came and so did L's sister L. The three of them were fantastic, doing the logistics of the event, leaving me free to enjoy it with friends old and new. A couple of my fellow students from the trip, P and J, made it along, as did some people from my time working at the bank, back in my former life. J stayed over with us. Unfortunately Dad has hurt his knees and wasn't able to come through but we should see him at the weekend.
