With credit note sorted and having a free day, Biscuit was bimbled back over Saddleworth Moor to Huddersfield to buy the textile trousers I wanted in the sale at Infinity. They are Alpinestars Stella Andes that match my jacket which as documented, is the only item of waterproof clothing that has been waterproof so am fairly confident a rainy ride south from Edinburgh would be dryer in these!

After arriving home, enjoying a coffee in the garden, reading a few pages of a John le Carre novel and patting Shadow when instructed to do so by her nose, eldest surfaced from some of her Uni work to ask if we could escape for a few hours.

Happy to oblige, we rode a loop around Glossop before heading to Marple to enjoy a cold pint of orange & lemonade outside The Navigation pub, followed by finding your Gals favourite Lock Beam to sit on for a damn good natter.

After that we called in to see my recovering colleague who has a retired friend staying over for a week - John - who is an absolute riot and he loved meeting my eldest at last.

Am now installed on the settee typing things into my phone. Have a good weekend everyone Xx
