A slightly irksome second attempt to have super duper broadband installed, foiled again, but it led to two very pleasant conversations with neighbours.

After finishing up work, I went into town to check out new phones and got into a conversation about artificial intelligence. I was told that it was like when there was a shift from typewriters to computers, and those who don’t embrace AI would be left behind.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt so old. I couldn’t accept the comparison - computers still required typing and didn’t write things for us. To me, AI feels like the lazy person’s best friend. Who needs to research, come to one’s own conclusions when AI can tell you what to think?  And of course AI will write your essays for you.

I needed ice cream afterwards to calm down.
