Lamp of Peace

THURSDAY - VE DAY

I spent the morning repointing another section of path at the back of the house and lowering and re-bedding an inspection chamber cover and frame.

Early evening, I headed over to the bowls club for our league match against Highbury. We had seven winners out of ten and picked up 9 pts. I won my own game 21-6.

This evening there were VE celebrations in the village pub - we called in for a quick drink - and at 9:30 pm a short get together was held on the village triangle where Trevor, one of our neighbours, lit the village  “Lamp of Peace”.

On another note, after all that expensive work on the car, the display reads “engine malfunction” so it’s back to the garage on Friday morning.
