Vision

My latest, a collection of my poetry from 2016-17. I started keeping a poetry journal in 2016, and have added something every day since. They are not all poems - some are just a line or two, maybe a collection of images - but some are. I’m going through them, putting the ones I like into books. Several years to go.

On a blip note, after reading my blip of Katie a couple of days ago, she shared it with her mom. She told her mom how kind the people were here on blip. Lo and behold, her mom signed on and began blipping here. You can find her at jillsearle. Stop by and welcome her. I recommended many of you for her to follow. The beauty of Blip.

The poetry book is not listed yet in the Blurb bookstore. When it is, I will post a link. In the meantime, here is a sample poem:

To the Pioneer Woman On the Slopes Of Mt. Hood

To the Pioneer Woman buried on the slopes of Mt. Hood:
your bones have an interesting home,
a mix of natural and man made,
a cairn of mountain stone five feet high,
adorned with guitar picks, candles,
incense, a roach clip,
a full can of Bud Light,
hemlock duff swept around,
raucous chorus of a Stellar Jay.

The long winter months find you
under feet of mountain snow,
the cold wind blowing up the slopes
to your white mound, you alone.

You died here on your broken journey,
left a young family,
and now we honor you with roses and a candle in our natural and unnatural way.
