Memories

On this day in 1982 my Mother died from breast cancer. She was only 49. I live in hope of seeing her again.
VE Day is very poignant for so many people who lived through the war years, I see it as a reminder of how pointless wars are and how nobody can ever be a winner of war. Peace is the only way we can live our lives together. Our “enemies” are often made from political differences that can be resolved through dialogue and not through the destruction of lives and homes with lethal weapons and massive loss of lives.
May the world soon find peace and our world leaders learn to avoid war with the use of tongues, not weapons allowing a resolution of differences be reached without bloodshed and violence. Amen.
