The first of many

The first of the row of flag iris has emerged in the sunshine. They are such splendid flowers and make a bold statement in the garden.
It has been a beautiful hot day and I sat in the sun doing my cross stitch until I got too hot!
I can hear plenty of traffic out on the main road, and I imagine everybody driving out to see the beautiful countryside in the sunshine.
