1172 day of war

Hello friends!
The warm weather didn't last long, and the rains have returned. At the beginning of the week, I got sick, so I rested more. These days, I really miss home — around this time, it was always warm there, people were already going to the sea to swim. But here, it's completely different, and today I went outside in a winter coat because it was very cold in the morning.

There weren’t many celebrations in the city these days due to potential attacks, but things have been calm. In general, the attitude in the country toward the Day of Remembrance for the victims of World War II has changed a lot. I remember that back in school, there used to be large parades on this day, and we were taught songs from that time. Back then, we didn't really understand what war meant, and we called it "Victory Day" — it was considered a holiday. Now there’s more awareness that this is a day of remembrance. Remembrance of what should never be repeated. Remembrance of those who died, who could have lived on and made the world better. It's sad to realize that so much time has passed, and yet the world has returned to the same place.

We can see how Russia distorts this memory and uses it to justify war. It’s truly frightening because we already know how well their propaganda machine works, and it’s terrifying to imagine the scale of wars this could lead to in the future.

Today marks the end of a so-called temporary truce, and the news is already warning of massive attacks being prepared. We're getting ready too — keeping important items in the hallway near the exit and preparing to go to the shelter in case of an air raid. This way of life, where you constantly have to hide and worry, has become really exhausting. But there’s a feeling that this difficult time might soon come to an end. It seems it should be clear to everyone by now that the front line isn’t going to change significantly, and this war simply makes no sense.

Of course, I no longer trust all those statements about ceasefires supposedly being signed tomorrow or anything like that — but I do feel that slowly, we’re all moving in that direction and that one day we’ll get there. After a long-term ceasefire, it will be difficult to resume combat, and the war may shift into a diplomatic phase. I really hope so.

For now, we’re holding on and trying to live on despite everything. Thank you for your support — it means a lot to me. Also, thank you for your help on BuyMeACoffee, it’s been really helpful.
