Spirit of New Zealand

This is a tall ship built in 1986 by Thackwray Yachts and the Spirit of Adventure Trust.
Its length is 45 m and breadth is 9.1 m. The main mast is 31.3 m.

The Spirit of Adventure Trust was established in 1972 to provide young New Zealanders access to "to a character development programme". The first ship used was called The Spirit of Adventure, and was used from 1973 - 1997 when it was sold to a tourism concern in Fiji.

Look here to see something about the Trust and more about the ship if interested.

The ship was berthed at a central city wharf in Wellington near the hotel where I stay on overnight trips to Wellington. On my run this morning I had a number of opportunities to find a blip, and this was the best. I think it is improved by being seen large.

Meeting ended on time today, and I am now back in the apartment. There was too much for us to complete the agenda, although the important and the necessary were done.
