St Abbs Head

A 2nd Saturday, so a walking day. Glorious weather, and the meeting point was the car park opposite  the St.Vedas Surf Shop near Coldingham. Travelled as a car passenger with R; it's not an easy place to get to by public transport.

A lovely little harbour; boats setting up to leave for bird watching trips; we saw bigger ones out of Eyemouth later on. @2ndSatStrollers

Maintained paths on the cliffs; one or two short steep stepped climbs;  people who don't do well on heights need to stay back from the edges. Orchids and sea pinks in the grass; some lovely poppies and other planted wildflowers in the verges near the harbour and the Visitors Centre.

Tremendous cliffs and thousands of seabirds nesting. Saw gannets flying; guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and probably other things .

Back by the lower path by the Mire Loch, which had skylarks calling. Back into Edinburgh in quite reasonable traffic, then a 27 bus to the New Town.
