Time for a nap...
As we'd expected, Eben slept very well but Luca was quite restless. He came into our bed sometime in the early hours, and went back to sleep till sometime after 5. However, he is one of the most mobile and wriggly kids, in sleep, that I've ever known. Perhaps he has vivid dreams. Consequently Richard took refuge in Luca's bed, in my study, while I slipped in and out of sleep next to Luca.
L and E and I emerged from bed properly around 6.30 am and I made oat milk pancakes. I really love pancakes for breakfast, and so do they. R napped a bit longer, then we swapped over and I got a shower.
I took them both back home mid-morning, to find Ruth and Josh looking wonderfully refreshed. They'd had a great outing to Manchester yesterday, including getting to see the stage adaptation of Hamlet there, the one that incorporates music by Radiohead.
And in the afternoon, I napped blissfully for nearly two hours.
Thanks to all who commented yesterday, esp on our garden walls... we love them too. Our garden sits in the right angle formed by the high walls of a Victorian primary school building and its playground. The school still occupies much of the original building, though one end of it was sold off many years ago and has been made into apartments. The walls give us a very sheltered garden, which we really appreciate.
My one photo of the day was this mural by Jo Peel. I passed it on my way home from Ruth and Josh's, and as it overlooks a busy road junction, Sunday was a good bet for capturing it. I like the way that Jo P has brought a rather dark and dingy corner to life, surrounded as it is by wires and street signs.
