Mystery Bird
Another beautiful morning, so I drove over for a walk at Cromer. It was definitely a bit cooler than in Holt and with a strong and cold Easterly wind - checking later it was 3C colder without the wind effect. I did my normal walk up the cliff path, then down for a walk on the beach. Then I went for a cuppa and carrot cake at the Rocket House, sitting on the balcony and watching the surfers. Then I headed for the pier where I spotted this mystery bird in the sea. The apps show different results, a grebe or a red throated diver (they are seen off Cromer and the red throat colour only appears in Summer). It looks to me like the latter, but please let me know if you disagree. This afternoon I sat in the garden for half hour stints as it was a bit too hot for me. The poor blue tit hatchlings are also too hot, the sun hits the bird box late afternoon. Two have made their way out of the nest bowl, so I hope they make their way back when the temperature cools
