A Meandering Life...

Exceedingly Good Cakes

Today we rejoined the annual membership of Kiplin Hall near our campsite. Since we last had membership they have converted an old sable block from an annex of a North American university to a very nice tearoom. The old tearoom was in the old building and quite special but not ideal for numbers it could host and a risk of destroying the house through fire from the makeshift kitchen!

We visited the walled garden which is yet to be in full bloom/use and tested the tearoom. My main Blip is of part of the huge lines of chives growing. My extra shows the new tearoom and what looks like the Great Wall of China made from scones. They are huge! Saying that I did manage a sultana one all by myself… ;o)

Tomorrow we head up to Northumberland.
