Marjorie's ramblings

The enthusiast

After a bit more tidying up and throwing out of Mum's stuff, I went to collect Margret. I took her to Hexham to hear Andrew Ziminski, the stone mason, at the Book Festival.

He is one of those infectious enthusiasts who makes you interested in whatever they are saying. He loves church buildings and works in restoration.

I have to say that his photographs, whilst adequate to illustrate his talk, were pretty poor snaps! It did not spoil it for me, although I thought I could have advised about better images!!

We did a great tour of special churches of the British Isles. He could have gone on for a lot longer.

The staff at the Queens Hall were excellent. They had a missing chair for Margret's wheelchair. Once they knew that Henry and Christine were with us (they had kindly arrived early to be with Margret while I moved the car) they put us together on reserved seats.

Margret saw a few people she knew too, but there was not long to talk before we had to move into the foyer.

Once I had settled her back in her room, I came home ready for Julie arriving. As it happened, I had two hours before she appeared and we shared roast chicken, ratatouille and potatoes.

PS I am persevering with the Mac, but missing Silver fX Pro, which is my go to for mono processing. Sigh.
