Petals

It was 6° warmer than yesterday today and much sunnier, so after Mass, Mr P and I headed to the beach. Son no 1 met us there and we enjoyed some lovely, long swims. After the beach, we had vermuts in the Fabrica de Hielo, while listening to live soul music, followed by pizzas in Festinar.
Home for a shower and short siesta, before heading back out to watch the religious procession. The most impressive part is when the statue of Our Lady of the Forsaken is carried through the streets and scattered with rose petals from the balconies above. I missed this last year and unfortunately I’d inadvertently booked us tickets for a jazz quartet at the Botanic Gardens tonight, so sadly we missed it again. That said the quartet musicians were superb.
We walked back through the streets, strewn with petals (lovely smell) and treated ourselves to ice creams from our favourite heladeria.
