The Secret Shopper

Another session of guiding at Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse. Quite a number of people visited today including one person, Brian Bayne, who I last met fifty five years ago.

We did recognise each other immediately and enjoyed a quick catchup.

Apparently Hill of Tarvit was visited by The Secret Shopper. The Trust employs an organisation to send the SS to check on the quality of the ‘visitor experience’.

The report has been duly sent to Claudia, the House Manager. Apparently I was one of the volunteers who was named and congratulated on my performance as a Guide. In reality the volunteers are all very experienced and welcoming.

However, the inspection took place on Easter Sunday and the SS was surprised at the number of Easter related characters he/she  encountered.

Apparently the Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs were not mentioned on the NTS website. That is not something that Individual properties have control over.

Today’s entry shows the rhododendron bush/tree coming into bloom.
