Resilient Redstart

She is back! Despite the ongoing, noisy renovation and - still growing - rubbish pile only a few metres away, Mrs Redstart has returned to her nest under our carport roof, and is patiently incubating her eggs. It made me very happy to see her.

I have not spotted her partner for a few weeks, though. Hopefully he is still around and will help to feed the chicks once they have hatched.

After work, I went to buy potting soil, to plant out the last tomato and squash seedlings. Now I‘ll go and water the garden after another sunny, windy and dry day.
