A View from on High

The North Sea has a lot to answer for and today it gave rise to a fairly chilly atmosphere when the sun spent most of the day behind clouds. There was a half hearted attempt to warm things up this afternoon when things brightened up but it will have to do better before I sit outside again.

Today is the shared birthday of my two boys born exactly 10years apart. I met up with David and Luca for coffee in Starbucks on Princes Street, overlooking Princes Street Gardens.  He was on holiday and she had left work early to celebrate. They were on good form, looking forward to having a break in Luca’s home city of Budapest at the end of the month. I won’t see his big brother Alasdair until next week but we will be on the phone tonight. Back in the day we used to have such big celebrations for their birthday, now it’s down to their own families.
