Terns and Gulls

Today we went to RSPB Minsmere, which is a fabulous reserve right on the coast. The biggest thrill of the day was getting some fabulous close up sightings of a Bittern in flight. We got quite a few year ticks; mainly Gulls and Terns. This is a  Sandwich Tern, and I’m posting a Mediterranean Gull in extras. The weather was ideal again, with clear blue skies and a gentle cooling breeze so it was never oppressive.
