River Eden
This morning Jess & I headed over to Dodd Wood to catchup up with Tryfan46 and Susan and hear about their endeavours heading south to north, we headed up to Dodd summit and then back down to the cafe for a fine soup and scone.
I took a few possible landscape shots but couldn't find a banker.
This evening Jess went off for a run with Eden runners and I thought I'd try a bit of stalking down the Eden to see what was about. I found a good spot at the water's edge camouflaged by some reeds, the insect life was incredible which is great to see. This Grey Heron had found a super spot in the shadows patiently waiting some action while I hung on in the reeds hoping not to be bitten to death. A grey wagtail passed by oblivious to my presence and I think a Common Sandpiper ? (extras)
All went well until I extracted from the reedbed and promptly walked into a willow branch , the very same one I'd hit a couple of weeks back. What with crashing to the floor off a bench in a hide yesterday and now knocking myself over on a willow branch I think my stealth tactics need some fine tuning..
