After The Rain

The day started damp and overcast - a pleasant change and particularly as the plants in the garden seemed more perky for it. It felt a good morning to spend a few hours catching up with some chores and doing some holiday planning.

That done I made lunch. I’ve been enjoying asparagus and chard with a boiled egg recently. It’s often freshly picked and uses the few vegetables currently available at the allotment.

Afterwards I spent a couple of hours down at the plot putting more wood chip on paths, weeding and watering. I then joined Andy and Merlin for a walk. This is the view across to the dog walking field from the lane. I feel it’s at its most attractive at this time of year when the trees and grasses are so lush and green.
