A different perspective

For all the years now we have been visiting Lancaster we’ve not seen this view of the castle or the Priory, with the tidal River Lune in the foreground.

When driving out of Overton towards the city you do get a similar view but if you follow the main roads you bypass the riverside. It shows the scale of the castle dominating the landscape.

A hot sunny day once the morning clouds dispersed: it felt Mediterranean. There was a warm breeze which kept the intense heat at bay. Another day of looking after our grandson then a family meal at their home. It was on our way back that we discovered this view.
