Valerian and aubrieta
After three years of drought and recent rains, the wildflowers have gone mad. I have never seen so many poppies and valerian. It is wonderful to see nature just waiting, paused until it can take off again. I have seen impressive photos of the Australian desert come to life within days after ten years of drought. Market shopping did not take long this morning given we were only buying for three days. There were four of us at the tennis lesson which meant we could finish the session with a set of doubles. The main tap in the kitchen has worked loose so the kitchen fitter is coming to tighten it. I could probably have done the job myself except the nuts to tighten are very inaccessible and I did not feel confident removing the clip out drawers. There are one or two final finishing touches to complete as well but I don’t think he will be doing those tonight.
