A lovely surprise visit

There must be a name for this scenario. I got a message from JMAPs this morning to ring them about an appointment. I was excited. But no, not a scan or to see a consultant. I was offered an appointment with an “advanced clinician” tomorrow 9am at Hexham, a 60 mile round trip. This is another physio person. I’m fuming at the waste of time and NHS money.

I had a lovely surprise this morning when I got a message from a friend of 50 years to say she’d call round at 10.30 as she was here for the dentist. She moved to live near her daughters in Cheshire but as she couldn’t get access to a dentist there she comes up here every 6 months. Her brother and sisters live here so it’s a chance to catch up with them. We had a short time to catch up as her husband appeared too. We all used to go walking together.

I had bloods taken this pm and Mr C drove me as he was due for B12. Turns out he should have gone yesterday. He should have asked me to put it on my phone as he didn’t check the paper calendar, having got it in his head it was today. I hope he’s not losing the plot.

When I was getting blood taken I noticed a drawer labelled Phlebotics. It reminded me of my Granny who had a cat she called Phlebitis. I wonder if it was her joke and the cat was prone to fleas.

I’m enjoying the art book and also Jack Reacher, much to #2 daughter’s surprise. We started watching “Families like ours” the Danish serial. It’s good.
