Book group afternoon tea

Thank you for your kind comments yesterday, all much appreciated.

Today my scones didn’t rise - it’s a long time since I ever made them but I’ve never had such a poor baking outcome. It didn’t matter as the book group were appreciative of the effort. It was another gorgeous day so we sat in the harden. They were divided about Cuddy, one person having barely started. She’s the one who usually reads the reviews rather than the book, and prefers to talk about her holidays. The others did discuss it and were glad to have read it.

The book Mr C ordered yesterday arrived. He went against his principles and got it on Amazon prime. After the group left I opened the art book. It’s heavy -not in the heavy-going sense - and very readable so I sat outside and made a start. I’ll alternate it with the Jack Reacher.

Mr C is now using a chisel to strip the doors.
