Mini Grand Tour

For years I have been wanting to visit Banter Books in Alnwick, this morning we were there nice and early. It didn’t disappoint. I’ve been told you never leave without buying at least one book. Well I could have bought many but only came away with an Earl Grey Tea Cake. I think that says much about me. ;o)

We then headed north with the intention of seeing Holy Island from afar. Last time I visited the tide was in. This time it wasn’t due for 4 hours. It was the first time I have been on the island. We didn’t walk to Lindisfarne Castle but we did have lunch in the village.

I have added an extra of the Castle and also of a couple walking across the mud flats. We saw a few who crossed that way, all barefooted.

We then popped onto the beach at Bamburgh Castle (see extra) before driving through a very busy Seahouses and other smaller coastal communities.

Tomorrow we have a garden visit booked.
