Jacobean woman's waistcoat
After we waved Bella off to the station to catch her train to London, Mr hazelh and I enjoyed a morning out together. First we went to the gym to check the set up for my presentation tomorrow evening. All worked - hurrah! Then we called in on Bruce and Elly for tea, cinnamon buns, and chat. Our last port of call was the James VI/I exhibition at the portrait gallery. There I loved the flower embroidery on this garment stitched some time between 1618 and 1620. It was known as a waistcoat at the time, whereas today we would call it a bodice jacket.
After lunch and some work-related and personal admin - including making enquiries about a cycling holiday in Portugal in the autumn - I headed into the garden to finish clearing the flower bed outside the spare bedroom window and replanting it with dahlia bulbs and bedding plants. Meanwhile Mr hazelh checked the logistics of the cycling holiday, then went for a run.
I didn't sleep very well last night so after posting my blip I'm going to have a bath and climb into bed.
Exercise today: 55 minutes on the exercise bike; gardening; walking (11,105 steps).
