DURHAM

I went over to Durham for the first time in ages and was pleasantly surprised that it was really quiet on such a lovely afternoon. In my experience there are usually lots of people heading in and out of the Cathedral, but not today. I was upset though that my knee and my feet really struggled with the the hilly streets and cobbles which I've barely been aware of before. I've got a lovely day planned for tomorrow - fortunately in a much flatter place - but I think I'll have to take a couple of changes of footwear just in case. My feet have taken to protesting painfully after an hour or so in any one pair of shoes, and barefoot is even worse. Bashing my left foot a couple of weeks ago didn't help, but that's nearly better now and I just have to get on with it if I want to go anywhere at all.
