The Next Chapter!

Water

An early start as I had to transfer the car to MC before the wee one went to school…so my blip was in the bag by 8.30am! By the time I got home my patio doors were mostly dismantled and after providing hot drinks and biscuits for the workies I set to washing down the kitchen. After lunch I sorted the furniture and pots in the garden whilst waiting for the dishwasher cycle to end, it was then refilled with the bits from my hob and oven. By mid afternoon I was exhausted so sat down and had a nap before putting my oven and hob back together. I’ve just vacuumed downstairs to get rid of some dust but the rest of the cleaning will be done tomorrow or Friday. I’ve still to get the front door and hall window installed so there’s more mess to come!

Last night proved to be a very interesting tour…the site is massive and we were shown the processes from beginning to end. The whole business is very environmentally friendly…water comes from their own bore holes and is mostly reused; power for drying is generated onsite: dust is collected and turned into feed pellets; their fleet of wagons are all run on vegetable oil and I think they aim to be carbon neutral by 2030. It takes months from the barley arriving in until it leaves for the distilleries. If you’ve ever drank malt whisky the chances are high the barley was processed in Berwick! I haven’t had the chance to download and sort photos yet and it probably won’t happen anytime soon.

Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting Wide Wednesday.
