Come On In, The Water's Lovely

We went to the tip this morning and mrsfb wanted to go somewhere exciting afterwards. So ........... we drove on to Malmesbury.

After a nice lunch in The Whole Hog we had a mooch around the shops (not much to see really) and a wander down to the River Avon in search of a water blip for Wide Wednesday. The cows were happy to pose.

We also had a look around the 12th century abbey which was looking good in the sunshine, and was very impressive inside.

I remembered the story of Hannah Twynnoy from my last visit here with camera club last year. She was a barmaid, believed to be the first person to be mauled to death by a tiger in Britain, in 1703. We found her grave. The gravestone looked rather new.

Update: just discovered the gravestone was restored in October :-)
