Brayford Again!
This morning I did a little more admin for the Court of Protection. Of course that is all done with now. They said that they need no more information from me. However they could come back and ask for information any time within the next two years, so I will just gather all the relevant information and store it away.
I've also done a little liaising with the vicar by Email. It will be the same very nice man who conducted my Dad's funeral.
Later I had a wander into town where I bought some much-needed new trainers. My old ones had holes in. They had been very cheap and lasted for a year of almost daily wear. The new ones cost about the same as the old ones, but with a lot of discount off the original price. (The old ones had been full price!) It's always good to get a bargain!
There was a pop-up stall in town with pet treats on so I had to have a look. I bought a pack of dried fish of some sort for Minstrel. He could smell it before I opened the bag (I couldn't, I'm glad to say!) He was going wild, so I chucked him a couple of the little sardiney looking fish, handling them with a tissue! And he picked one up and dropped it again pretty quickly - clearly he didn't like the dry, crispy texture. For a while he batted them around on the floor, then shoved them under the computer desk as he often does with toys when he has done playing with them.
When Brian came home I asked him to get them out again seeing as their odour would only become more pungent! Brian can take them when he visits his sister to see if her cats will eat them. The stall had quite a few weird, gross things on - mostly for dogs rather than cats of course. There were rabbit's feet and deer-legs still with fur on. Ewww! I didn't look too closely at anything else...
This photo was taken at the Brayford again. Today has been quite cool compared to the last few days, in fact I went out in short sleeves but soon went back for a light jacket. It was quite breezy and cloudy most of the time I was in town.
This evening we went up to the care home to collect my Mum's stuff. As with my Dad I let them keep the clothes to use for other residents. They would have only gone to the charity shop. There was a radio that wasn't actually hers that I let them keep too. All we brought back was some toiletries and a couple of pairs of glasses that I never saw her wear all the time she was in the home. Weirdly there was also a very old book about a vicar with some pages missing too. It definitely wasn't hers and I hadn't realised it was in there until we got home.
