Grumpy Old Man

Another island

Another warm day,  blue skies and cotton-wool clouds! We set off to walk down to Doolin Pier, 2 or 3 miles away, and booked a ride at the ticket office to the nearest of the three Aran Islands, Inis Oirr. Twenty minutes or so took us over the water and as soon as we got off the boat we were accosted by a man who asked if we wanted a horse and cart ride. We'd planned for this, so accepted, and had the cart all to ourselves for a leisurely trot around - my Blip today.

Back to the village and we had a paddle in the ocean then a wander round the streets, watching the antics of the local folk trying to drive a car on to a boat without success! My extra today is of the local castle with an idea of the very, very numerous stone walls on this island, far more than I've ever seen in Scotland. Then a boat ride back to Doolin and yet another boat ride along below the amazing Cliffs of Moher, teeming with bird life.

Then another long walk back to Doolin and dinner in one of the many pubs, then another longish walk back to the house. A wonderful day, but I'm knackered!
