Dolly's Day

TYNE WAVE

I heard lot of noise and banging around 8am this morning and assumed it was my workmen arriving. When I looked outside I saw a truck for a different roofing company and they were putting scaffolding up next door at Jackie's house.  Soon after my workmen turned up.  My corner of the Close looked like a building site with trucks, scaffolding, guttering and lots of workmen.  Jackie is getting some roof repairs done as well as having her guttering replaced. So double the noise for the cats to endure today.

I had an appointment with the nurse at the Health Centre so I headed off down to the village and got there around 9.30am.  I had a doppler test ( it measures the blood flow in your legs ) --- which was OK.  My blood pressure was OK too.  The nurse changed my dressing and measured my legs for new compression stockings.  I was due to go back next week but the nurse is on holiday so Ive got an appointment in a fortnight.

Got a bus down to Swalwell to do some shopping in Lidl.  Before doing the shopping I decided to walk down to the River Derwent to get  my Wide Wednesday blip... the theme is 'Water '.  However I wasn't able to get near the river.  There were two large Council lorries blocking the pathway ... they seemed to be doing something with a large digger.  So I had to turn on my heel and just go to Lidl.

Then I got a bus to the Metrocentre.  Had a wander around and did some shopping.  Was wondering how I could get a watery blip when I remembered a ceramic panel on a wall near the Red  Car park.  Its not somewhere I usually go.  The mosaic ceramic panel measures 37 feet long and 8 feet high and is called Tyne Wave. The panel shows a variety of North East images including the bridges across the Tyne, the Angel of the North, The Baltic Art Gallery, The Sage and football players. The River Tyne provides the continual theme throughout the panel, illustrating the rolling and sweeping waves decorated with colourful fish.  So It fits with the Wide Wednesday water theme.  Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting.

When I got back home around 2pm all was quiet.  Both sets of workmen seemed to have finished for the day.  I think my job must be done as I got a bill through the door.

Made three phone calls this afternoon  - to book my Annual Review at the Health Centre,  my 6 monthly check up at the dentists.... and Lily's yearly check up and booster jab appointment with the vet..  I wonder if I will get her there first time this year.
