Watching you....
This morning started off cold again, but by 11. 30 when I came out of church the haar had burned off. I dropped the curtains off at the tailor this morning and she said she'd try to get them done for Friday much to my delight.
I headed to Stockbridge to meet up with D&L they'd been to Tiso where she had had a most successful fitting and adjustments made to a new pair of walking shoes. She's had various foot surgeries and has difficult finding comfortable shoes. She was most impressed that the assistant spent hours than an hour with her getting it right, stretching and adjusting the shoes. He then sent her out wearing them and told her to come back after an hour so he could make further adjustments if necessary. She was most impressed.
We met up in a Stockbridge and had a good wander around the charity shops, a friend had recommended a toastie shop and as promised they were delicious, a class above any toasted sandwich I've had before.
On my way too and from Stockbridge I walked through Inverleith Park. I wanted to see the swans. What a difference to the Leith pair who hatched 9 cygnets. Here there is 1 and another egg in the nest. I was very amused by the Pen's feeding techniques. She wasn't letting her baby out of her sight and no wonder with that heron watching from the sidelines.
What a cruel beak that is and the cygnet is probably still within the heron's capabilities. Nature in the raw .
On the way home I had a message to say the curtains were ready. Most impressive. I'll drop them off at the Rectory tomorrow.
