Hill Top Ramblings

Brunhilde and Wotan

We went to the opera! Well, a live screening at the Brewery Arts Centre, of a wonderful production of Die Walkure from the Royal Opera House. These live screenings have a really great atmosphere and of course close up shots that you would not see if you were really there. And useful subtitles too, for those of us not so fluent in German.
It was a rather modern design, with some amazing special effects, particularly the flaming tree in the closing scene.
I really love the music in this opera and it was wonderful to hear the whole thing without the interruptions we have at home!
Also, today we ate the Orkney cheese! When I cut into it I was delighted with the thin delicate rind that had developed. The texture of the cheese is delicately moist and slightly crumbly. The flavour reminds me very much of some French semi-hard cheese so that’s to be good! Rob thinks it’s the best one I have made so far! And isn’t the colour great? That has just developed from the milk somehow. It was made from Low Sizergh Barn raw milk and no added cultures, so I suppose it’s Sizergh Cheese? I will definitely make it again, next time it will be thicker!
