Hill Top Ramblings

Sad times

I took Barbara around our favourite local walk, over the fields and down the lanes. But I suddenly noticed that nearly all of the mature trees are ash, and nearly all of them look very, very sick with ash dieback disease. This is the first spring when it looks like they will all die very soon, and that will be another terrible blow to our countryside.
We did see some cute lambs and calves though.
We made shortbread and pastry, and Barbara made me Lazy holopchi for supper, a mixture of cooked rice and sauerkraut, baked in the oven. It’s a Ukrainian recipe and very tasty!
Then we watched soppy movies! (Rob’s away!).
